Subject: Kernel-3.0.4 stalls while doing fs operations on a large directory

I have an ext3 partition and a large directory of roughly 150GB in it.
When I do "du -sh <large-directory>" or a "rsync <large-directory>
<partition-on-diff-disk>" or a "mv <large-directory>
<partition-on-diff-disk>" I find that the kernel hangs. I am using
gento-sources-3.0.4-r2.

As per the suggestions on https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=385047
I recompiled the kernel with debugging support and did a "du -sh .."
I see the following bug on the /var/log/messages

BUG: spinlock bad magic on CPU#2, du/2433

I have attached the full /var/log/messages for your analysis. Let me
know if you want me to do anything else.

Thanks,
Sushant.
