I very much appreciate this effort, it discourages proprietary
charger-managers (e.g. infamous "BME" on Nokia N900).
I just Cc some people involved in embedded dev, so maybe someone
have comments.
To me the code looks technically OK (though, I'll give it a second
review some time later).
Small issue noticed though:
