Subject: What will you do If you must redevelop the linux kernel?

Hi all,

I am a fan the linux kernel and kernel hackers. :-) I just have one question.

What will you do If you must redevelop the linux kernel?

Actually, the linux kernel have been developed for a long time. The
UNIX design philosophy has
been a very old. Progress has been made on the field of operating
system research. I think the
kernel needs redesigning for the new computing paradigm represented by
the cloud computing
and virtualization.

Of course, I am aware of it is invalid to develop the kernel from
scratch(compatibility Issues-
many drivers, many applications). I just want to hear the ideas of the
linux kernel hackers.

Do you have any ideas? (new design, new architecture, new features,
new philosophy, etc.)
