That is really, really strange, since I do work primarily on:

[acme@...dy linux]$ cat /etc/redhat-release 
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.3 (Santiago)
[acme@...dy linux]$ rpm -q flex
flex-2.5.35-8.el6.x86_64

And haven't noticed such problem...
