this is a driver for ST-Ericsson u8500 board(Snowball), with a ARM core inside.
so you should compile like this:
make  ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux-gnueabi- u8500_defconfig
make  ARCH=arm CROSS_COMPILE=arm-linux-gnueabi- uImage
