Yes, i only realized it later on, that the compile failure with 
CONFIG_HIGH_RES_TIMERS was introduced in 3.6.36-rt50 when i tried the feature 
patch. Then i prepared a patch only to see that a fix was already in the 
feature branch. Alas.
