Does it eventually boot after several minutes?  You may be seeing a timeout from the firmware loader as it tries to load the new ucode for the UVD block.  Make sure you  have the latest REDWOOD_rlc.bin and CYPRESS_uvd.bin files from the Linux firmware tree.
