Subject: [PATCH 3.17-rc5] kconfig: Suppress warning: ‘jump’ may be used uninitialized

From: Tim Gardner <>

In file included from scripts/kconfig/
scripts/kconfig/menu.c: In function ‘get_symbol_str’:
scripts/kconfig/menu.c:590:18: warning: ‘jump’ may be used uninitialized in this function [-Wmaybe-uninitialized]
     jump->offset = strlen(r->s);
scripts/kconfig/menu.c:551:19: note: ‘jump’ was declared here
  struct jump_key *jump;
  HOSTLD  scripts/kconfig/conf

gcc 4.9.1

Cc: "Yann E. MORIN" <>
Signed-off-by: Tim Gardner <>

Is gcc 4.9 dumber then 4.8 ? gcc 4.8 doesn't produce this warning.
