Grr.
I found:
ccfc08655d5fd5076828f45fb09194c070f2f63a is the first bad commit
but that boot failure is apparently fixed by 2caa80e72b57.
So my bisect seems to be worthless, because there were two independent
boot failures, and it found the known one.
Back to the drawing board.
