I thought about moving the I8K configuration option as well. Not really sure what to do there. Greg, any opinion ? It would have to reside outside the HWMON block of drivers/hwmon/Kconfig if we move it. We also can drop me as explicit maintainer - I am on the hook from the hwmon side anyway, and we don't need to step on each other's foot for this driver.
