I see that It's also a 32bit version. Can you run a 64 bit kernel?

I ran this on bare metal for the latest kernel as well as a stock v4.4
kernel (I don't have an Ubuntu image, I work for Red Hat ;-) (although,
I do have Debian).

Can you run a mainline kernel (build one yourself from the kernel.org
source) and see if it still crashes. If it doesn't you may need to
contact Ubuntu to fix this.

But if not, let me know, and I can walk you through steps to figure out
where the bug is.
