It's binutils debian version 2.27-8. Does this jmr3927_defconfig
require a special mips compiler? I see there are 4 available gcc
packages in debian:

gcc-mips64el-linux-gnuabi64
gcc-mips64-linux-gnuabi64
gcc-mipsel-linux-gnu
gcc-mips-linux-gnu

The last one is used here.
