Right. And even before Meltdown, it was desirable to remove those from
the physmap to avoid SMAP (and in some cases SMEP) bypasses (as
detailed in the mentioned paper:
http://www.cs.columbia.edu/~vpk/papers/ret2dir.sec14.pdf).
