I don't see a reason why that wouldn't work. After all the DMA support
here is really just about some external DMA engine writing to the FIFO
register, so from an I2C controller's point of view it's exactly the
same thing.
But if we already set up DMA for a transfer, might as well transfer the
3 packet header words with that.
