Just a detail (not a big deal):
I would re-order this patch to be just before patch "media: vimc: cap:
Add handler for singleplanar fmt ioctls", as it is only required there,
so it is easier to see why this modification was needed.

I would re-word this a bit:

And in the docs of function v4l2_fmt_sp2mp() you can explain better how
