so this means the event is not going into btmon and I don’t really like that. Frankly I would prefer if we create a hdev->vendor_evt callback that gets call when HCI_EV_VENDOR is received (and yes, that is the correct constant and not HCI_VENDOR_PKT).

Personally I would check that firmware download success in the qca_hw_error callback. I think it is useful that it is called anyway even if the firmware download failed. You can print a clear error if you receive it during firmware download.
