I think we should have some way to let the caller know exact mapping
of brightness_val to color_id. Possibly LED mc core should provide
a helper to get color_id by color entry index.

But this remark is actually more relevant to the place of calling.
I'll try to propose something there.

And regarding brightness_val name - how about:
