Thank you for finding this!

However, this was due to a debugging commit used to chase a particular
bug (hence the "EXP:" at the beginning of the subject line).  Now that
this bug has been fixes (woo-hoo!!!), I will be dropping this commit.
In case you are interested, the fix is here:
