Hello Sakari,

Taking this v4l2_dev out, means that I am no longer able to create and
add a notifier to this 'csi2dc' device. This means that I can no longer
connect the subdevice to this device.
In this situation, how can I connect the subdevice in the pipeline to
the csi2dc node ? The subdevice is the 'csi2host' hardware block.

The pipeline looks like this:

Sensor   -> (mipi csi2) -> csi2host -> (IDI interface) ->  csi2dc ->
(parallel interface) -> image sensor controller (master driver)

The master driver is also written to cope with this pipeline

Sensor -> (parallel interface) -> image sensor controller (master driver)

The master driver awaits for the subdevice to have its 'completion'
ready, which in the first pipeline is the subdev that csi2dc is
registering, in the second case it's the sensor itself.

Could you please help me understand how to change this such that both
pipelines work ?

Thanks again for your review,

Eugen
