 enable configurations

HI Branislav, Mathieu,

I have started to look into this as a top priority.

However, when I enable the CONFIG_DEBUG_ option my board fails to boot
at all. (Dragonboard DB410c), so the resolution make take a little
time.

At this point I am assuming that the mutex will need to be replaced by
a spinlock - so a re-design + v8 set may well be required.
