Basically, don't write the bulk of the function under an if statement
mutex_lock(&matrix_dev->lock);
if (!matrix_mdev->kvm || !matrix_mdev->kvm->arch.crypto.crycbd) {
mutex_unlock(&matrix_dev->lock);
return;
}
