Subject: 5.15 memory corruption issue

I named the filed issue "list_del corruption" but it could just be a 
symptom:

Since I could not reproduce it with 5.16 I think there might be a fix 
that wasn't backported (or it was fixed "accidentally", or the bug got 
introduced in 5.15 it was branched?).
