Good point, I actually just changed it because of a review suggesting
this. I will change it back.

I think I would prefer to keep the code. Once this is figured out all
the drivers using pm_power_off will need to be updated anyways so I
guess it's easy for this to be adjusted at that point IMHO.
I could make it an info message and rephrase it a bit so it's clear that
this is kind of expected to happen. What do you think?
