I don't see how 4b512860 might cause this, but i haven't spent much time
on it, maybe someone who knows the code recognize the problem much
quicker. I did the bisect twice, and it always ended up at that commit.
manually compiling and testing the revision before also shows that
it happens only with 4b512860.

For reproducing, the following script is good enough to trigger it
reliably on my system:
