Subject: RE: [PATCH] mmc: Add Synopsys DesignWare mmc cmdq host driver

Hi Ben,
Thanks for your suggestion.

> The patch includes two parts: a dw_mmc_cqe driver and dw_mmc_cqe-rtk driver.
> Adrian and Ulf's comments[1][2] don't seem to be addressed.

[1] The reason why we added many changes was because we found
out that synopsys IP data book's register and user guide with cmdq
support were different from non cmdq's , so we referred to dw_mmc.c
coding style and push dw_mmc_cqe.c to support version after 5.1 JEDEC Standard.

[2] Hello Ulf,

Due to Synopsys ip book's limitation, it had 128MB DMA boundary issue.
We thought that adding a call back function in cqhci_prep_tran_desc
could make it compatible to different IP design.
Did it abuse the interfaces/APIs from the core or maybe we needed to
add it somewhere else?

One more question we would like to ask for your device was due to
the design book, abort command sequence's flow would send cmd 13
after cmd12, this flow seems specific in synopsys host driver.
Did we add the flow in the wrong way?

Thanks a lot.

Hi Jyan,

The patch includes two parts: a dw_mmc_cqe driver and dw_mmc_cqe-rtk driver.
Adrian and Uffie's comments[1][2] don't seem to be addressed.
You should discuss your comments with the reviewers before making the
next version.
