It is fine to call kfree with a possible NULL pointer:

	/**
	 * kfree - free previously allocated memory
	 * @object: pointer returned by kmalloc() or kmem_cache_alloc()
	 *
	 * If @object is NULL, no operation is performed.
	 */
	void kfree(const void *object)
