Ok think I misread your comment,
I find
(dev->api_version < 1) ? ...
more intuitive than
(dev->api_version == VDUSE_API_VERSION) ? ...
But now I think you meant
(dev->api_version < VDUSE_API_VERSION_1) ? ...
Is that right?
