The whole loop is just doing ffz().
So could be:
if (vme_bus_numbers != ~0u) {
bus_num = ffz(vme_bus_numbers);
vme_bus_numbers = BIT(bus_num);
bridge->num = bus_num;
...
ret = 0;
}
