For me, I ma building for Embedded platform.
Go to Directory where the Makefile is and do this:


make -C  $LINUX_DIR  SUBDIRS=$PWD  modules
LINUX_DIR should point to LINUX directory

LINUX_DIR=/home/swdev/PPC/linux/   as example
