How did you build the kernel with CONFIG_KMSAN?
It showed this error in my env:
scripts/Makefile.kmsan:8: Cannot use CONFIG_KMSAN:
-fsanitize=kernel-memory is not supported by compiler.

My gcc version is: gcc (GCC) 7.1.0
