Subject: RTL8411B - Ethernet Disconnects from Time to Time

Hi Realtek Linux Team,

We have an issue where the network card: RTL8411B in Ubuntu 20.04 has
random disconnects on a model of our laptop.  This model is G1060
(factory model is a Clevo NP50).  We are a supplier of laptops to the
Eastern European market and we offer support for Ubuntu.  In addition,
we have quite a few questions from our users.  Other laptops we are
supplying with Linux support is not causing any problems and has a
stable connection on the same cables.  We have tested and confirmed this
issue on multiple units of G1060 (NP50).

I have attached the specification we have from the factory about the
network card.  All drivers and Ubuntu are up to date.  We have tried
both R8169 and R8168.  The result is the same.

The issue is not always present, but quite regular.  Usually when
disconnecting a cable and re-connecting it will not recognize the
network.  If it has been working an hour or so it will continue to
function, but disconnecting and reconnecting will cause this problem to
re-occur.

If you need more information please let me know.

Sincerely,

Craig
