Ahh, here's the reason you need single-thread work queues.
Minor nit with using _work instead of keeping work variable, but not a
big deal:

Whats with changing this to _work? not sure it helps readability at all.
You don't use work in the function elsewhere except as part of
container_of which was fine before. Either way, not a huge deal to me.

This is a scary looking comment. :D
The result seems ok though: if you deactivate the SF before it starts
probing, it fails to probe and is this never activated? Ok.
