Here are the minutes related to scrypt from the CFRG discussion this week. The full (unedited) minutes are here:

=== Third item: Scrypt KDF
password-based KDF
widely used
current draft has pseudo-code in python, test vectors
Seeking CFRG input
to be published as informational.
Ben Kaduk:
AGL: it is historical? The password hashing competition should be done by then.
KP: should look at the password hashing competition. They're in their final stages - 6-8 months
Nico: why informational? Standards track won't be able to use it
Chorus: not anymore

May be of interest to people on this list.
For those that might not know, the CFRG is the "crypto forum research group", a working group in the IRTF (the research wing of the IETF). They review crypto and provide guidance for IETF working groups and publish (mostly information) RFCs defining primitives and protocols, mainly for use by IETF protocols.

Please consider allocating a slot for scrypt. Rich Salz will be present and can talk about it.
