Not at all, initially I commented on the fact that you attacked someone
who obviously understood the situation and you didn't seem to understand
the situation. No personal attack was made. Just an observation.

Afterwards you quoted some rap at me, which contained some allusion to
defending myself which appeared to be a personal attack. Then I mocked
you, again no personal attack I'll mock anyone that quotes rap at me,
indiscriminately.

You did that, all I did was point it out.

So I was right then ? You are saying I shouldn't make these assumptions
and then you confirm them, seems I'm a good judge of character thanks
for pointing that out, I'll be sure it's on my CV for my next "nerdy
job".

No kidding.

I didn't personally attack you, you attacked me and all I did was point
out things you admit are true and mock you for quoting rap music to me.

Thanks for the advice, however being here is both part of my job and
part of my leisure time, if it's OK with you I'll hang around.

Well can you at least try to address it properly, the intended recipient
would probably prefer a direct email rather than a list he may not
subscribe to.

It wasn't an attempt at anything like that it was a conversational
interest point over something that MW and I had both noticed.
Incidentally I'm sure MW already had his own opinions of you which I was
unlikely to sway.

Congratulations! I certainly don't boast about computer science. As for
face value, you admitted my judgements were correct, so there is no
issue with my assumptions is there? Although I agree face value isn't
always the best thing to go on, but in this case it's all I have and it
seems it was adequate.

I apologise that my comments upset you so much you had to draft a
lengthy flame-filled response, it was not the intent. My intention was
merely to discuss the merits of someone that self-admittedly isn't a
hacker discussing hacker culture. This may not have been entirely
obvious from the original email but was something that seemed like an
interesting point and it seemed others (MW) on the list saw something
worth discussing there. You'll notice the email was addressed to the
list and MW and not to yourself, for future reference if I ever decide
to personally attack someone it will at least be CC'd to their address,
but most likely their address will be the first one listed in the email
headers.

Your previously provided entertainment is appreciated. Long may it
continue :-)
