Message-ID: <004401c2512d$44badbb0$3264a8c0@local> From: hggdh at attbi.com (HggdH) Subject: www.securityfocus.com / www.iss.net DOWN? The whole point here is that we are a paranoid lot. For me, when a major security-related site vanishes, I think the worst. As a standard procedure, whenever SF goes off-line, a note should be sent to the public. If this is indeed a 0day, then we all should be advised about it. I also cannot contact SF (but I am not going to scan them to find out if they are indeed down. ..hggdh.. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rob Rosenberger" <junkmail@...nowl.com> To: <full-disclosure@...ts.netsys.com> Sent: Saturday, August 31, 2002 12:16 Subject: RE: [Full-Disclosure] www.securityfocus.com / www.iss.net DOWN? mail.securityfocus.com is down, too. Earlier this month, a SecurityFocus employee admitted they sometimes disconnect from the Internet as a protective measure when new exploits come to light. Their absence may indicate the release of a dangerous new exploit. I therefore urge everyone to disconnect from the Internet as a precaution and wait for the media to give you an all-clear signal. Better safe than sorry... Rob
