Note that the definition of "readily compilable" depends on your point of view.

Estimate the original poster's likely experience level, and decide whether it's
a better bet for them to try to roll their own telnetd with SSL support
(remember you need clients too) or just go for OpenSSH (where clients are more
easily found).
