Subject: [2.6.20.2] "PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 2 of device",
	missing dvd and dvb

Upgrading from 2.6.19.7 to 2.6.20.2 my dvd and dvb tv-card no longer
work.

dmesg on the newer kernel is showing the following errors:

PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 2 of device 0000:03:00.0
PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 3 of device 0000:03:00.0

and is missing the following entries:

JMB361: IDE controller at PCI slot 0000:03:00.1
PCI: Enabling device 0000:03:00.1 (0000 -> 0001)
ACPI: PCI Interrupt 0000:03:00.1[B] -> GSI 19 (level, low) -> IRQ 18
JMB361: chipset revision 2
JMB361: 100% native mode on irq 18
PCI: Setting latency timer of device 0000:03:00.1 to 64
    ide2: BM-DMA at 0x9c00-0x9c07, BIOS settings: hde:pio, hdf:pio
    ide3: BM-DMA at 0x9c08-0x9c0f, BIOS settings: hdg:pio, hdh:pio
Probing IDE interface ide2...
hde: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-H42N, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive
ide2 at 0xac00-0xac07,0xa802 on irq 18

and also these:

cx2388x dvb driver version 0.0.6 loaded
cx2388x v4l2 driver version 0.0.6 loaded

cx88[0]/2: cx2388x based dvb card
DVB: registering new adapter (cx88[0]).

... I think these are the most relevant lines. Attached is the full
dmesg output from both kernels and lspci -vv from the newer one.

My reason for upgrading from 2.6.19.7 is to avoid intermittent SATA
detection failures (then unable to mount root fs panic) similar to
http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-ide@vger.kernel.org/msg02352.html

I have diffed my configs and they are as similar as possible (excluding
new features). I have also looked at the list archives and bugzilla and
can't find anything that appears to be relevant. 2.6.20.3 also didn't
fix the problem. I would appreciate any pointers on what to try next.

(please cc my email with any replies)

Thanks,
Jonathan.
