No, the patch isn't needed for those.

Without your patch:

- Devices assigned by BIOS remain assigned;
- Devices not assigned by BIOS get assigned until address space
  exhausted.

With your patch:

- Devices assigned by BIOS remain assigned;
- Devices not assigned by BIOS never get assigned at all.

What am I missing here?
