So here is the feedback i got from congatec:
In general I should use the Intel Embedded Media and Graphic Driver as
this seems to work for other
customers. EMGD and VBIOS do not share any information's regarding
LVDS configuration.
So it looks like I need to generate the correct VBIOS and flash it
with a congatec utility onto the device.
And then the gma500 driver should find a VBIOS with VBT signature.
