While it's not performance critical, perhaps the buffer
alloc/free could be avoided by using stack. Something like:

	char name[ACPI_PATH_SEGMENT_LENGTH * max_segments ? ];
	struct acpi_buffer buffer = {
		.length = ACPI_PATH_SEGMENT_LENGTH,
		.buffer = name,
	};
