Subject: Linux Plumbers Conference Call for Organisers
The Technical Advistory Board of the Linux Foundation would like to
issue a call for anyone interested in running Linux Plumbers Conference
2013. To make a successful application, you need at least a Chair
(person in overall charge) a Treasurer and an Events co-ordinator.
Details (somewhat out of date) of the bidding process can be found here:
https://wiki.linuxfoundation.org/en/LPC
In 2013, Plumbers will be co-located with LinuxCon in New Orleans in the
week of 16 September (LinuxCon will be 16-18 September and Plumbers will
be 18-20 September). The reason for co-locating is to remove as much
of the venue administrative burden as possible from the successful
organising committee. It is still important that Plumbers retain its
intimate flavour separate from the much larger LinuxCon, so you should
plan on organising at least one Plumbers only evening social event
The TAB (as the Steering Committee for Plumbers) will also place at
least one TAB member on your final committee to ensure that you have a
go-to person to answer any questions you might have and make sure the
necessary planning and liaison with the Linux Foundation goes smoothly.
To place your bid, please email your proposal (Successful proposals are
required to have at least three names for Chair, Treasurer and Events
Co-ordinator, but should have other people and positions as well,
showing how you would organise your committee) to
tech-board@...ts.linux-foundation.org
On or before Sunday 18 November.
Thanks,
James Bottomley
TAB Chair
