Subject: drm: i915: regression in i915 after suspend (render ring
initialization failed; v3.16.3)
Hej,
since some kernel-versions I can't get my intel-card to work after I
suspended my laptop. I currently run stable v3.16.3. After (re-)boot, the
graphic-acceleration works fine; upon suspending the laptop to ram and
waking it up later, this pops up in the kernel-log:
[54251.683106] [drm:init_ring_common] *ERROR* render ring initialization
failed ctl 0001f001 (valid? 1) head 8163e50c tail 00000000 start
00042000 [expected 00042000]
[54251.683109] [drm:__i915_drm_thaw] *ERROR* failed to re-initialize
GPU, declaring wedged!
After that I can still use X normally, but everything that involves
acceleration won't work anymore (including videos and such). I saw there
was a fix for this some time ago, but it only got pulled into older stable
kernels. Is their any fix for this for newer kernels?
(kernel log and config attached)
