Compiled and booted on my test system.

I am seeing the following mei_me messages:

mei_me 0000:00:16.0: version message write failed: ret = -5
mei_me 0000:00:16.0: hbm_start failed ret = -5
mei_me 0000:00:16.0: version message write failed: ret = -5
mei_me 0000:00:16.0: hbm_start failed ret = -5

Not concerned - maybe Alexander Usyskin and Tomas Winkler
can take a look and see if this looks ok.

Could this be related to:

mei: clean reset bit before reset

commit b13a65ef190e488e2761d65bdd2e1fe8a3a125f5 upstream.

thanks,
