Pulling in the lcdif clock as optional clock works but how do things
work with DCSS? What clock will reset need to be synced there too? 'pix'?

Very nice! Especially the last part (e.g. keeping the dsi lanes free of
signal output until the dsi setup commands went through) answers some
questions I asked NXP a while ago in the forums but did not get a
reply. That should make things way more robust.

I'm fine with making (and testing) the changes but if you have some code
(even against an older driver version) i can borrow from in a tree
somewhere you can link to (or send via mail) that'd certainly speed up
things.
