Hi Werner,

I feel that following letter of the spec too closely here makes things 
clearly harder for code than it needs to be.

Besides, even in the spec itself, they call this group of values a "RGBI 
tuple" in sections 26.11.1 and 26.11.2 rather than given those as 
individual entries (because that obviously makes sense and is easier!). 
How about calling that rgbi_tuple_t or lamp_rgbi_tuple_t, that would still 
align with the spec?

BTW, when referring to 400+ pages spec/doc, I'd appreciate more precise 
reference (yes, I do look). Also, it would be useful to reference that 
doc in the changelog too (again, please be precise enough that one doesn't 
need to search through the entire document, and include also version 
information so that if the spec gets updated and section numbering 
changes, the update doesn't end up invalidating the reference).
