Subject: Re: [PATCH 1/12] BE NIC driver - Header files and initialization
functions
Thanks for you comments Stephen.
We did not make MSIx the default since most testing
was done with INTx. Since this version of the driver does not use multiple
interrupt vectors, there is no performance advantage in using MSIx.
If MSIx is still the preferred default, we can change it.
NAPI makes tasklet redundant in the RX completion processing; but
we felt deffering TX completion processing to a tasklet is a better
idea for 10Gb data rates than doing it in hard interrupt.
I will get back soon with other comments taken care of.

Overall this part looks pretty good.

Why is msix off by default? hardware problem?

Check for null not needed, kfree() handles it.

This memset is unnecessary, alloc_etherdev returns zeroed memory.

Just do NAPI, having a configuration option means more possible
test cases and distributions only ship one binary anyway.

You should not need this lock, if:
1) you use NAPI properly,
2) you get rid of the unnecessary state flags like rx_sched etc..

Do you need a tasklet if using NAPI? That would
