Jason,

It should be 
+	WARN_ON(id->qp_type != IB_QPT_RC && id->qp_type != IB_QPT_XRC_TGT);

and not
+	if (WARN_ON(id->qp_type != IB_QPT_RC && id->qp_type != IB_QPT_XRC_TGT))
+		return -EINVAL;
