What services do the remote workers need to access? If there's anyway
to provide that service with an internet-safe protocal (e.g.
HTTPS/IMAPS/SSH/SFTP) it's usually far better to  go that route as you
save a fortune, avoid multiple classes of security risk and you can
train your users in a single way no matter where they're working.
